Overview
Clearbit, founded in 2015 and acquired by HubSpot in November 2023, is a B2B data-enrichment platform now rebranded and folded into HubSpot's AI suite as "Breeze Intelligence." Its historical strength is firmographic and technographic enrichment: given an email or domain you get back a company's industry, employee range, estimated revenue, location, and tech stack (100+ attributes across roughly 50M+ companies), plus a Reveal API that deanonymizes website visitors by mapping their IP to a company. For a decade developers built directly against the standalone person.clearbit.com, company.clearbit.com, and reveal.clearbit.com REST endpoints, and Clearbit was a default enrichment layer in stacks like Segment, Marketo, and Salesforce.
The defining fact about Clearbit in 2026 is that it is no longer an API-first, CRM-agnostic product. Following the HubSpot acquisition the standalone offering has been steadily dismantled: Clearbit Connect shut down in December 2024, the free platform and weekly visitor report ended April 30, 2025, and the free Logo API sunset December 1, 2025. New API keys are not issued to accounts created in 2024 or later, only legacy 2023-and-earlier accounts retain raw API access, and those keys run on limited support with no new features and an eventual full sunset. New enrichment capacity is sold only inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence credits (from ~$45/mo for 100 credits on top of a HubSpot subscription), with HubSpot now the mandatory front door. There is no first-party integration for Salesforce, Pipedrive, or other CRMs.
The practical verdict: for existing HubSpot customers, Breeze Intelligence is a convenient, well-integrated native enrichment feature with genuinely strong firmographic accuracy on US companies of 50+ employees (G2 reviewers cite 80-90% accuracy there). For everyone else, non-HubSpot shops, developers wanting a programmatic enrichment API, or teams needing strong international/SMB coverage or reliable contact-level emails and phones, Clearbit is effectively a dead end, and the market has moved to alternatives like Cognism, People Data Labs, Apollo, and FullContact. Data gaps for companies under 50 employees and outside North America/Western Europe remain a recurring complaint, as does Reveal silently burning credits and slower support since the acquisition.
