Hunter

Hunter is an email-discovery and verification product that grew from a domain-search tool into an outreach platform. Its public API v2 covers Domain Search, Email Finder, Email Verifier, Email Enrichment, Company and combined enrichment, Discover and Discover People, lead lists and sequences, and account/usage endpoints. The scope is narrower than PDL or Apollo: it is strongest at work emails and weaker for phones, deep work history or non-public addresses.

Documentation is a clear strength: per-endpoint parameters, error codes and examples, an OpenAPI JSON at hunter.io/openapi.json, published per-endpoint rate limits (Domain Search, Finder and Enrichment 15/sec and 500/min; Verifier 10/sec and 300/min; Discover 5/sec and 50/min), a test key for the main endpoints, and an MCP server. Several endpoints (Discover, Discover People, Email Insight) consume no credits.

Accessibility is also strong: the help centre states the Free plan includes API access, the plan is permanent with 50 credits per month, and pricing is public (Starter 2,000 credits at about 34 euros/month on discount, Growth 10,000, Scale 25,000; separate custom Data Platform packages start at 6,500 euros). The ecosystem is the weak point: no official SDKs or GitHub libraries were found, only community wrappers and a docs section on API wrappers. Reputation is solid: G2 about 4.4/5 (634 reviews), Capterra 4.6/5 (703), Trustpilot about 4.2/5 (296). Reliability evidence is modest: IsDown tracked two incidents since 2022 (a 23-minute API outage on July 28, 2026 and a 26-minute incident in August 2025); the status page itself could not be retrieved and no SLA was found.
