Overview

Coresignal is a data-as-a-service provider that sells company, employee and job-posting records collected from public web sources through REST APIs, flat-file datasets and a no-code self-service dashboard. Its docs describe a database of 4.5B+ records across company, employee and jobs data, exposed through Search, Collect, Bulk Collect, webhook and real-time endpoints, plus an Agentic Search API that takes natural-language queries for LLM pipelines. The buyer is an engineering or data team building its own product or pipeline; there is no CRM, sequencing or point-and-click prospecting layer, and reviewers note it offers little value without engineers.

Where it wins is a documented developer path and transparent packaging. The docs include a quickstart, API playgrounds, a rate-limit reference, llms.txt and llms-full.txt exports, an MCP server for Claude/Cursor, and published monthly credit plans from $49 (2,500 credits) to $5,000 (10M credits) with a time-limited free trial and no sales call to begin. The employee and company APIs support Elasticsearch-style query DSL, and the jobs dataset is refreshed more often than the company data.

Where it loses is ecosystem, freshness and contact depth. No official language SDKs, OpenAPI spec page or Postman collection were found in the docs index. Third-party reviews describe monthly refresh cycles on company data, no direct-dial phone numbers, and records that need normalization before use. The public status page tracks three components (CDAPI, RTAPI, self-service) and on the verification date showed the Real-Time API timing out because of an upstream data source, though it also lists scheduled maintenance transparently. No contractual uptime SLA is published for self-serve plans. Net: a credible raw-data API for builders who will do their own normalization; not a turnkey enrichment tool.

How this score is derived

The APIbenchmarks Index is a weighted sum of four dimensions, each scored on an absolute 0–100 reference scale. See the methodology for every mapping.

Documentation & DXDocs at docs.coresignal.com have a quickstart, API playgrounds, an Agentic Search playground, a rate-limit reference, a sitemap and llms.txt/llms-full.txt exports, which covers time to first call well; scored 80, level with Apollo, because no OpenAPI spec page, Postman collection or Python examples page appears in the docs index and third-party reviewers say the data needs normalization before use.

ReliabilityPublic status page (status.coresignal.com) tracks CDAPI, RTAPI and the self-service dashboard with incident history and announced maintenance (Oct 5, 05:00-07:00 UTC auth work), but on 2026-10-07 it showed degraded service with Real-Time API requests timing out on an upstream source, and no uptime SLA is published for self-serve plans; scored 78, below Apollo and PDL's 82-84 band for the live degradation, not for lack of a status page. Observed uptime was not independently measured.

Ecosystem & SDKsOfficial MCP server for Claude/Cursor, webhooks, an Agentic Search API and cloud-storage and third-party integrations are documented, but no first-party language SDKs were found in the docs index (PDL has five, Apollo has MCP plus CLI plus CRM connectors); scored 66, below Apollo's 78, because evidence for native CRM or workflow connectors is thin.

AccessibilitySelf-serve signup with published monthly plans (Mini $49 to Elite $5,000) and a 7-day, 2,000-credit trial, so no sales call is needed to start; scored 76 rather than PDL's 90 because the trial expires instead of recurring monthly and datasets start at $1,000+ on contract. Sources conflict on trial terms (a third-party and an older blog cite 200 Collect + 400 Search credits for 14 days); the official pricing and docs pages say 2,000 credits for 7 days, which is what we used.

Strengths & trade-offs

Strengths
  • +Transparent self-serve credit plans from $49/month, no sales call to start
  • +Quickstart, API playgrounds, rate-limit reference and llms.txt/llms-full.txt exports in the docs
  • +Official MCP server for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients
  • +Agentic Search API accepts natural-language queries for LLM pipelines
  • +Large coverage: company, employee and jobs data, with webhooks for updates
  • +Public status page covering CDAPI, RTAPI and self-service components
Trade-offs
  • –No official language SDKs, OpenAPI spec page or Postman collection found in the docs index
  • –Free access is a 7-day trial only, not a recurring free tier
  • –Company data refreshes roughly monthly per third-party reviews; no direct-dial phone numbers
  • –Raw data often needs preprocessing and normalization before use
  • –Real-Time API was timing out on an upstream source on the verification date
  • –No UI, CRM sync or workflow layer, so unusable without engineers

What developers say

Datarade 4.8/5 (12 reviews); no G2 or Trustpilot rating verified

Satisfied reviewers are mostly data engineers and analysts; criticism centers on monthly refresh cadence, missing direct dials, normalization effort and no UI.

“Coresignal's monthly refresh cadence lags multi-week behind contact-verification tools.”
